Breaking News>>>President Will Unveil Long Term Debt Reduction Plan

David Plouffe, a close advisor and the person who will be running President Obama's campaign, announed this morning that the President will be unveiling his deficit and debt reduction plan later this week.

Not many people remember, but it has been widely written, here, here, here, and here that the President wanted to put his plans out in a systematic way, not wanting to step on the issues that are right in front of him. The President also did not want to go first in the debt/deficit reduction sweepstakes to not give Republicans a chance to politicize his plans.

Now that the Republicans have introduced their plan it will be interesting to see how many Republicans vote for the budget blueprint that is coming next Friday. Those voting for that blueprint will be in effect, on the record saying that they are for pushing the burden of Health care on to Seniors and the middle class, while at the same time giving high earners and average of $200k in tax cuts. That my friends is not going to sell with Indies and it will be interesting to see who actually votes for it. Those who do will have that famous anchor that James Carville talked about a few years ago, thrown at Republicans while they are treading water.

However, if President Obama calls for deep cuts in Medicare this week then he gives Republicans a political pass and in effect saves their majority in the House going into 2012.
