Victimhood

It is inexplicable to me why a political party like the Republican party, feels that it has to constantly remind its members that it is a victim of the left wing media, liberals, and whoever else doesn't agree with what they believe.

Now don't get me wrong, I am friends with a lot of conservative Republican people. They are hard working, god fearing individuals, who have wonderful families, and for the most part none of them whine about the left, at least not in front of me.)

However, those Republicans in the House are playing the victim card something awful and consistently. They blame everybody and they have phrases like the Lamestream Media, The Muslims, Liberals, Socialists, Marxists, Communists, and even poor people who they claim through the richest country in the history of the world into a recession by taking on loans from rich bankers, because the government and Barney Frank made them do it. Well I was taught a long time ago that if you are having problems, look in the mirror first, because all of your problems usually start there. Its' the oldest trick in the book for politicians to play the old rope-a-dope game. Whenever a politician is doing something they don't want you to notice they holler and scream about how the other guy is ruining this or that, in order to get you to focus on the other thing. It's like a pickpocket that seemingly bumps into you with one hand while extracting your wallet in the other.

Well there is one tea party favorite Governor who is tired of all the blame game, victimhood. In The Hill, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is telling the 2012 Republican Presidential hopefuls to stop their whining about the President and tell her constituents what they are going to do for the country.

"There is a group … that has come through South Carolina. They are trying to tell me how they are going to win. I don't care how they are going to win, I want to know how they are going to fix our country."...Gov Haley
I agree, these guys need to stop their whining and tell the country what ideas they have for the country, that is better than the current president. Bitching and moaning is not going to get you elected to the highest office in the land. At some point the candidates are going to have to say something more concrete than where is Obama's Birth Certificate or Tax and Spend Liberal. That just won't get you elected to anything but a Republican House seat.

What's even more incredible to me is that a lot of the issues that this country faces are bipartisan, in regards to both parties over spending. However, with Republicans the problems have been made many times worse by the fact that not only have they overspent, but have cut revenues making the budget imbalances worse than what they would've been without the Bush tax cuts. Now don't get me wrong, I love those tax breaks and I fully take advantage of them, however during a time of two wars (now three), cutting taxes and asking the Chinese to finance our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is not very smart.

So when President Obama was telling his donors that Republicans in the House are not serious when they put up a guy as a poster child of financial responsibility who voted for two wars, a prescription drug program, and tax cuts and none of which were paid for, I applaud him for pointing out the obvious and ask who are really the victims of this sick joke?
